According to Britney's mom Lynne, Britney was a sweet baby
and started not only talking early, but also showed her talent
for dancing already very soon - as soon as she learned to
stand and walk, she strated dancing already and loved music.
Soon, Britney took her first dancing lessons, was enrolled
at a gym in Covington, near her hometown Kentwood, Louisiana,
excelled in sports and won some titles.
Three hours a day she practiced until she was nine.
Then she returned to dancing, and added singing as well. Soon
she travelled around the state with a dance company, and was
in competitions with the group, and solo. Her specialty was
jazz lyrical dancing, she sang at the competitions as well,
and she did very good.
When a producer of the Disney Channel's "Mickey Mouse
Club" saw her, he asked her mom to fly to New York and
get Britney her first agent.
Britney studied at the Off-Broadway Dance Center and at the
Professional Performing Arts School. During this time, she
appeard in some commercials and played in some Off-Broadway
productions including Ruthless (1991) - based on the thriller
"The Bad Seed" from 1956 .... and she enjoyed playing
an evil child!
At age 11, Britney became part of the "Mickey Mouse
Club", dancing, singing and acting on the popular TV
show.
When the show ended, she returned to her hometown and went
to high school for a year, but missed travelling, dancing
and singing.
At age 15, Britney was given the chance to audition for a
girl-group, but decided she would do better as a solo performer.
She went back to New York, and got a contract with Jive Records!
Already before her first album came out, she had her fans
from performances at local malls and from her opening act
for 'NSync. And when "Baby, One More Time" came
out, she soon had fans all over the world.
Britney made a world tour in Summer 1999, and after that,
went to the studio to record another album. Britney
Spears attributes her wonderful success to her family, and
her faith in God.
Britney married Jason Alexander on January 03, 2004, and
got divorced on January 05 -
after 55 hours.
On September 18, 2004, Britney Spears married her former
backup dancer, Kevin Federline.
In April 2005, Britney announced on her website that she
and Kevin were expecting their first child.
Sean Preston Federline was born on September 14, 2005 at
12:57 a.m. in Santa Monica, California.
On September 12, 2006, Spears gave birth to their second
son, Jayden James Federline. He was born at the Cedars-Sinai
Medical Center in Los Angeles, California, again by a scheduled
caesarean section.
Spears filed for divorce from her husband Kevin Federline
in early November, citing irreconcilable differences and
asking for both physical and legal custody of their two children,
with visitation rights for Federline. |
